About ISPMU – The Gold Standard in Permanent Makeup Education
Our Story
The International School of Permanent Makeup (ISPMU) was founded by Mihyon D. Cha, a visionary leader who turned her diverse experiences into a platform for aspiring beauty professionals. After serving in the Navy, Mihyon returned to New York City with a modest savings and an uncertain future. During her deployments, she discovered permanent makeup (PMU) in its infancy, learning advanced techniques from different countries. Seeing its potential to change lives, she founded ISPMU to offer comprehensive, legally accredited training—helping students gain financial independence while mastering the art of PMU.
Today, ISPMU is the only BPSS- and DOE-approved Private Career School in New York, setting the gold standard in PMU education. We are proud to be VR-Access approved, an SPCP CPCP trainer, a KSPCP Board Member, and an AAM Platinum Trainer for NY & NJ. Unlike short 3- to 5-day courses, ISPMU’s in-depth curriculum ensures true mastery with hands-on training in nano brows, lip neutralization, scalp micropigmentation, and paramedical tattooing. Our one-year free refresher course reflects our commitment to student success. As the new CEO, I (Jina) am living proof of ISPMU’s impact, transitioning from a principal in early childhood education to a leader in PMU training. Mihyon remains my partner, and together, we are elevating PMU education by bringing cutting-edge Korean beauty techniques to the U.S. and shaping the next generation of PMU artists.
Mihyon D. Cha is a Combat Veteran, a mother, and an Auntie to five nieces and nephews. After getting out of the military, She had to transition into civilian life, go to college to start a new career, support my parents, and spend time with the 3 nephews. Thanks to permanent makeup, She was able to do all of that without compromising my quality of life. All she had to do was dedicate 3 4 hours a day on permanent makeup to have a $ 2,000-a-week paycheck. Here she realized how this would benefit anyone who is only able to work a few hours a day and still have enough time for school, family, or the fun things in life.
So she made it her life's mission to help those who want to spend more time with family, spend more "me" time, Spend more time on the important things in life.
Why? When parents spend more time with kids, she firmly believe that children will have a better future. Children who spend more time with their parents will grow up to be better future leaders with the right morals in life. I firmly believe that if we better ourselves, we will be an example where our children will want to walk in our foot steps to do the same for their future generations.
And in return, I will know that our children will lead by example.

With over a decade of experience, Jina Park-Cha, C.P.C.P., is a renowned international speaker, educator, and industry pioneer in permanent makeup. As CEO of ISPMU, one of the only BPSS- and DOE-approved PMU schools in New York, Jina is setting the gold standard for PMU education, innovation, and hygiene safety worldwide.
